This can be achieved in several ways, but the most common is to use a tilted monitor and a mirror, so that a reflected image plane is created in the empty space under the mirror. In this space a haptic device is placed so that when the manipulandum (handle of the device) is co-located with this reflected image of the virtual scene. To enhance the effect stereoscopic glasses are used, and sometimes also head-tracking.

Happy new year!

Forsslund Systems AB is launching a new initiative called Haptikfabriken where we will produce developer-friendly haptic systems for sale, and participate in the haptic research and development community. With this blog we want to take you behind the scene and show a bit of what we are working on, as well as sharing and discussing with the community.
